Dissolved Oxygen Measurement System

Overview

Our precision dissolved oxygen measurement systems and accessories are successfully operating in teaching and research laboratories worldwide.

Combined with Strathkelvin's respirometry software, our dissolved oxygen meters and respiration chambers are providing accurate and rapid measurement of dissolved oxygen and respiration rates across a wide number of life science fields.

The following three parts are required for a complete dissolved oxygen measurement system:

  1. Microcathode Oxygen Electrode
  2. Oxygen Meter
  3. Respiration Chamber or Cell

Microcathode Oxygen Electrode

The SI1302 Microcathode Oxygen Electrode is used with all of our respirometry research products. It is a Clark-type polarographic electrode, with a 22 µm diameter platinum cathode and silver/silver chloride anode, connected by a buffered potassium chloride electrolyte solution.

Oxygen Meters

An oxygen meter is required to measure the current generated by the microcathode oxygen electrode. Strathkelvin has two different oxygen meters that can be used as part of a dissolved oxygen measurement system.

The SI782 Dual Channel Oxygen Meter is an oxygen meter that can operate with one or two oxygen electrodes.

The SI928 Six-Channel Oxygen Meter is an oxygen meter for precision dissolved oxygen measurement that can operate with up to six microcathode oxygen electrodes simultaneously.

Respiration Chambers and Cells

Strathkelvin offers a wide range of measurement chambers and cells for respiration for a variety of different purposes. All our chambers and cells are designed to work with our microcathode oxygen electrodes and any of our oxygen meters. Click here to view our range of chambers and cells.
